ten things of thankful
- This week I’m thankful for April being Poetry Month with 30-day challenges. It got my poetry pen writing again after a dry spell.
- I’m so glad walking around the block has come easier and without gasping for breath.
- Dreams. I’ve been have lengthy dreams of action in full color, like films.
- For coloring books of Jane Austen and cat themes. I’d rather be painting but these have filled in until I get the brushes out again. It is relaxing, on the sunporch with the Captain on my lap and sometimes on my shoulder.
- Gorgeous blooming bushers, bridal bushes, azaleas, etc. and flowering trees are bountiful this spring.
- A small individual electric griddle that is so cute and so convenient for one.
- For my everyday salad with kale that keeps my heart happy and pumping.
- For positive comments on Running with the Horses. They are encouraging.
- For the healing process that doesn’t give up if I don’t. The human body is an amazing miracle.
- 10, For small miracles that happen every day. Too many people are too busy to notice.

When needed
And sometimes just for pleasure.

pspoetry- Day 28 -Coffee Shop
Coffee Shop – arlene s bice
There is a rhythm in the air
as folks walk in, place an order
the barista moves as if in a ballet
creates a buzz or a whoosh
asks, would you like a ?
a coffee drinker takes a table
someone waves hello
another stops to chat
coffee aroma fills the room
a low hum of words float
as heads bend over laptops
before the day takes over.

The children were lined up
like tulips all in a row
tall, straight up
brightly colored clothes
all different
as was their skin
each one a complement
to the other
in full bloom.

No Going Without- arlene s bice
Reading for pleasure
is one of life’s treasures
it is how I measure
a successful leisure
years ago I had no time
to sink into a book sublime
definitely it was a terrible crime
not to spend hours of prime
so I never think to refuse
reading my books to lose
myself with no abuse
not for me, to be obtuse.

Summer of ’21 –arlene s bice
Hands on the keyboard
not musical except for the words
musically run through my mind
create, remember, type
heavy drapes at the window
block our sunshine and distraction
write, read, publish
concentrate, live for thoughts, ideas
words eventually printed on paper
still a life-long love of writing, reading

After those I loved have gone
places are found in my heart for them
to remain forever, always with me
never apart, until our reunion
with joy in the afterlife.

The Nude –arlene s bice
I’m more than a thing of beauty
needing no other reason for existence
but I am a reminder of what once was
a gift, a good memory to bring to mind
now a greeting near the entrance of home
to welcome all who care to enter, enjoy
an insight for the love of art begins and
lives here.

- Mushroom capsule supplements that sharpen my memory.
- Sines Binaural music on You Tube for healing.
- Love my lawn service, no more pushing a mower.
- The Captain for added responsibility, affection, & humor.
